The Shopify App Rank Trackers, Compared: 11 Tools in October 2026
If you sell a Shopify app, you have a decision to make before you even open the dashboard: whose number do you trust? The App Store doesn't publish keyword rank, so every tool in this list rebuilds it a different way, with a different pricing shape, a different owner behind it, and a different conflict of interest to disclose or not.
We built one of these tools, so this comparison is not neutral in the "we have no opinion" sense — we have one, and we tell you where it lives. It is neutral in the stricter sense: every row below cites the vendor's own site, every claim is dated, and where a rival beats us we say so. If a column reads "Site did not say," it is because the vendor did not publish it as of 28 October 2026; please take that as more honest than a guess.

Every row checked by hand against the vendor's own public site on 28 October 2026. Column definitions: Free plan is a recurring free tier, not a time-boxed trial. Chrome ext is a public extension in the Chrome Web Store. MCP is a Model Context Protocol server for Claude, Cursor or similar agents. Partner API means the tool reads revenue from your Shopify Partner account. GA4 means the tool connects a Google Analytics 4 property to attribute installs to keywords. Founder named is a human name on the public site, not a company name. Publishes competing Shopify apps is the owner — or an obvious sister company — selling an app in the same marketplace they also claim to measure neutrally.
The two trust problems the market still hasn't solved
Conflict of interest. Five of the ten alternatives in this list — Rankbase, AppstorePulse, LetsMetrix, AppNavigator and Becketto — are run by people or companies who also publish Shopify apps. That is not a smear; it is a disclosure that the directory flags on each entry, and in most cases the founders are open about it. It still matters, for one practical reason: a rank tracker that watches apps its owner is in business against decides what shows up in a "popular keywords" explorer and what doesn't. We publish no Shopify app of our own; neutrality is the cheapest thing we can offer, and the market leaves it on the table.
Anonymity. Four of the eleven — Ranksy (first name only), AppstorePulse ("Built by Shopify Partners"), LetsMetrix ("Let's Metrix LTD") and SAMI (nobody) — do not put a human founder on the public site. That is their call. For a buyer handing over a Partner API key, which carries revenue data, it is a datapoint worth having in the open.
Where the alternatives are honestly better than us today
Ranksy publishes a dated, free App Store volatility index on every page of its marketing site and has been collecting rank history longer than we have. Rankbase has 365 days of history, a years-published changelog of listing changes, and native Slack notifications; we send email. AppstorePulse ships a free listing audit with PDF export that is better packaging than our equivalent. Applora puts its entire dataset behind no signup and has published Agent Skills on GitHub, which is a form of distribution we have not matched. If your use case lands squarely in one of those, pick that tool. We would rather you buy the right one than the one you regret.
Who should pick what
- You already have GA4 and want install-click attribution per keyword: Rankbase, Ranksy or AppstorePulse. All three run live on real properties with named customers.
- You want to spend $8 and look up keywords your app already ranks for: SAMI. It does one thing and it is the cheapest.
- You want the dataset open to an AI agent with no login: Applora, then us. Both ship MCP; theirs is read-only and open, ours has 59 tools including write actions.
- You care about neutrality and a named owner — and you want it to work before you have GA4 or Partner API set up: BestAppify. We publish no Shopify app and the data comes from our own App Store crawl, so a brand-new app has data in it on day one.
- You want a free lookup with no account to answer one question today: AppNavigator, Becketto or SASI. Nothing to buy.
If this list missed a tool, mis-stated a price, or something changed after 28 October 2026, mail business@bestappify.com and we will update the row and date it. Our own entry in the watchfor.tools directory already carries a correction we filed about our own catalogue count. We would rather be corrected in public than wrong in print.
